Floor Lamp by Alessandro Soliani
Floor Lamp is composed of a whole trunk of old elm wood and raw concrete. The cut is left rough and the LED bar embedded in the wood created by Alessandro Soliani, an Italian furniture designer and maker thinks that handcraft is the best way to unleash his imagination. The idea, the design, the concrete realization of every single product as well as the care dedicated during the production process come out of his mind and experience.
The floor lamp offers relatively dim lighting. Elmwood is valued for its interlocking grain and consequent resistance to splitting. Concrete has always been one of the classic contrasting elements of wood. The raw concrete with rough cut wood creates this primitive emotion and visual impact.
