Lithe, A Cooperative Work by Three Young Designers
Lithe is a lightweight stool come in three different heights. The minimal design and light color wooden surface make it a perfect seat, display pedestal or small desk for modern studios. This project was designed by Regine Calzo, Grace Leung, and Nathan Lo, three young designers from Emily Carr University of Art + Design. The objective of the project was to create a new stool for the University. After creating 20 prototypes, they arrow down to a simple goal which is to create a stool that is visually and physically light since stools in schools are constantly transported from room to room. Therefore, they had to use little wood as possible and give the stool a natural tone with a semi-gloss finish. The design looks elegant and practical at the same time. It is not only a great stool for schools, it could definitely be loved by minimalists, artists, and interior designers.
