Mole & Dedo by Naoko Shintani
Mole & Dedo are minimal storage boxes with a slight tilt. They both made from bent plywood designed by Naoko Shintani for the Villa Home Collection. The designer was born in Japan, has been lived and worked in Italy since 1989.
Mole magazine rock has a square shape with rounded corners and a particularly inclined edge. Dedo storage box has almost the same design, except one has the handle in the middle panel, the other has the handle on the side. We have to admit that plastic is more durable and cheaper than wood in many industrial design perspectives. However, wood is always one of the honest materials that have sustainability and looks more elegant in many ways.
