Sphere Bottle Opener by Fort Standard
Sphere Bottle Opener is made of beech-wood created by the Brooklyn-based design team Fort Standard for Areaware. Fort Standard is a contemporary design studio and manufacturer based in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Founder and Designer Gregory Buntain explore the interplay of natural materials and modern production processes to create distinctive designs rooted in simplicity and functionality.
It is designed to fit in palm ergonomically and to pry caps off with minimal effort. It’s also big—roughly the size of an eight ball—and easy to keep track of. In addition, it could set on the flat side. The design is very similar to KIME wood bottle openers created by Mikiya Kobayashi, a Japanese designer, and craftsman.
