Ask Trays by kaksikko
Ask trays are a set of three nesting trays designed for a restaurant in helsinki. They made of solid and laminated ash created by kaksikko, a studio found by Salla Luhtasela and Wesley Walters, two Helsinki-based designers specializing in ceramic tableware and wooden furniture.
The structure underneath has the dual purpose of elevating them off the table for servers to lift easily and enabling them to nest for stacking and storage. The laminated ash were bent over to cover the edge of the tray. The overall design is very typical Nordic design. It is functional and minimal, and ash wood is a really good choice for this project since it is durable and easier to work with.
