Juro by Tomas Kral
The Juro collection is a contemporary collection of stools and small benches designed by Tomas Kral, a Switzerland-based designer often takes inspiration in the tradition and ordinary situations and translate them with a touch of poetry and humor to simply, innovative solutions and clever everyday objects. In order to find a new creative approach, shapes, details, assemblages, and purposes he frequently observes and experiments with craftsmanship and the knowledge of manufacturers.
The Juro collection inspired by the shape of a hat of Juraj Janosik, the Slovakian national hero. It is particularly about the big radius of the massive seat board. This idea is also enhanced by the construction, by the detail how the legs of this furniture being joined together with the aforementioned seat board.
The collection consists of four pieces: a low stool, a long bench, and two size bar stools. All pieces are made of solid oak wood and exist in different oiled finishes such as white, natural or dark.
The shapes of the stools are smooth and steady. The joints are seamlessly connected. It is a pure enjoyment just looking at those forms, shapes, and woodgrain of the pieces.
