Reilstad Summerhouse by Helen & Hard
Reilstad Summerhouse is a vacation house located at one of the largest islands in Ryfylke. It is mostly built with timber and concrete slab. The interior is cover with wooden floor and walls designed by Helen & Hard, an architectural studio specialized in using timber as the construction material.
Each surface has its own depth and texture with its own spatial rhythm that enhances the adjacent outdoor nature; the ash-wood flooring with its marked grain, the fan-shaped staircase, the room furniture light and even ash finish with built-in shelving and niches, the timber battens between the long roof-beams in the ceiling. The whole structure is really Nordic.
