Steel Stool by Noon Studio
Steel Stool is built with coated steel and Ashwood, influenced by traditional English craftsmanship and Provencal rawness. The stool has no screws or glue which allows it to be used as a side or coffee table, magazine holder or shelving system, created by Noon Studio, a London and Avignon based design office found by Gautier Pelegrin and Vincent Taïani. The design office has a philosophy of using honest materials, simplicity of execution and a new approach on typologies.
The contrast of the oiled ash wood and black steel is terrific. It feels vintage and industrial. The slats on the wood precisely tie the two components in place. It has a small hole in the front of the wood panel for handholding the stool since the left and right side of steel edge might be a little shape. Thoughtful detail like this creates a better design.
