Cork + Wood Bowls is a series of American walnut trims with cork oak bark hand-turned in Oakland, CA. It is designed by Melanie Abrantes Designs, a Bay Area-based producer of handcrafted, heirloom objects. Founder Melanie Abrantes believes that in order to create something beautiful, you have to get your hands dirty.
The warm tone of the walnut and cork are contrasting yet complementary. Cork is a naturally antimicrobial and hypo-allergenic, making it an ideal material for food and plants. Each bowl has a hand sanded interior and is finished with natural beeswax. Perfect as a planter or catch-all bowl.
