Hug is a Japanese wooden bench with a decorative plant designed by Yukari Hotta back in 2012. The design is a classic culture influenced creation, it could an inspirational piece for fellow designers. Yukari Hotta is a Japanese designer living in Denmark, who focus on making people’s everyday life more attractive, convenient and comfortable with subtle designs.

Modern Japanese and Nordic design has a lot of similarities. Both uphold design principles that use natural materials, clean lines, and straightforward construction.

In terms of interior design, they value simplicity, and the space in any room is just as important as the design of a room and its contents.
