Modern Japanese and Nordic design has a lot of similarities. Both uphold design principles that use natural materials, clean lines, and straightforward construction.
In terms of interior design, they value simplicity, and the space in any room is just as important as the design of a room and its contents.
In terms of product and furniture design, both style focus on functionality and aesthetics with minimal decorative inputs.
In addition, both traditional and modern Japanese interiors incorporate natural materials such as fine woods, bamboo, and live plants. Under such influence, this wooden bench has Japanese style’s serenity and Nordic’s simplicity.
