School El Til·ler by Eduard Balcells, Ignasi Rius, Daniel Tigges
El Til·ler School is a wooden structure carefully inserted into a large, mature and abandoned private garden close to Barcelona. Five of the six buildings that make up the school are existing modular pavilions of wood and steel designed by Eduard Balcells, Ignasi Rius, Daniel Tigges.
This sustainable teaching center has been built with natural materials and a radically low-tech concept. The concrete structure has a beautiful facade – entirely covered by wooden panels. The interior is very minimal and comfortable. Wooden custom built cabinets and shelves are perfectly contrasting with the raw concrete. The texture and woodgrain create this peaceful and warm environment for the children.
