L’iNVITÉE by Episode Studio
L’iNVITÉE is a folding chair made out of beech wood and canvas cotton, two simple and affordable materials, traditionally used for painting framing. The object is less polluting, lighter and more affordable this way designed by Episode Studio, a young product design studio created in 2018 by Nathan Baraness and Marina Daguet.
A folding chair is often a neglected object that is hidden or even kept away. The idea was to take it on a new perspective and build a comfortable chair, on which people would want to sit on. Here, padding isn’t used but tissue tension and entanglement create the visual illusion of a soft cushion, giving the chair a comfortable and light look.
