Otaku bathtub is a woven soft bathtub made from thin strips of wood veneer using a traditional Asian boat-building technique. It is designed by Tal Engel, an Israeli designer suggests to define the fields of objects, interiors and furniture design as unique platforms to form ideas, which might have a significant impact on peoples way of living.
The bathtub was built by weaving together strips of white ash and maple veneer to create a sheet. Once the woven process is formed, steam the wood stripe supple enough to bend. Then wait for it to dry and add layers of resin were coated over the bathtub which adding strength and durability as well as crucially keeping the bath watertight.
Despite its long-term endurance and clean options, It has an elegant form and it has a really interesting concept, in addition, it is light-weight. It could be perfect for a compact studio or it could be a secondary bathtub just for bubble baths.
