Mrizi i Zanave by Plisatelier
Mrizi i Zanave is a hotel and restaurant set on a countryside agrotourism farm located in Fishte, in north Albania. There is this beautiful building that has a glass window between the broken stone wall. It also features a warm and cozy wooden interior designed by Plisatelier.
Transferring old stone building into modern housing has become popular recently in Europe and East Asia. Stone structure often lasts for centuries. A renovation can bring those histories and memories back to life. The intention and design style is brilliant. It reminds me of a project tries to bring young generations back to the old town area when has all these old stone structures called “siheyuan” in northern Chinese cities, especially Beijing. They repolished the wooden structures that were composed of aged stone and combine them with new glass. We will be continuously seeing this kind of projects more often and I really appreciate those effort and ways of thinking.
